MDP on Telecom Management

Two days management development program on telecom management organized on the 16th and 17th of December, 2011.

MIT Pune’s MIT School of Telecom Management achieved one more milestone by towards becoming a totally integrated institute with a global presence. MITSOT & Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries & Agriculture (MCCIA) recently organized a Two days Management Development Programme on Telecom- “From Market Development to Operations & Management” by Dr. Suresh Borkar, member of the Faculty at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), Chicago, USA. He is also a Senior Principal Investigator with Roberson and Associates, Chicago, USA. He worked with Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) as the Director for Customer Management for 3G Wireless Systems and as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Managing Director, at Tata Lucent - Telecom Joint Venture.

The main objective of the MDP was to equip managers, engineers and budding students with the market and process expertise to achieve business success. The program addressed workings and dynamics of how successful Telecom, IT services and Product companies operate – from concept and market development to revenue realization. The program provided the innovative skills to leverage tools, techniques, and processes effectively, deliver outstanding results for the customers with the key concepts such as Product Management, Systems Engineering, Architecture Development, System Design, Site Testing, Performance Optimization, Network Operations and Management and Customer Management.

Dr. Borkar in his deliberations has covered various topics like Global and Indian telecom trends, Optimization & management, Innovative and Growth Areas and a specific focus on Quality Management.

The event got a huge response from the Industry and Academia. Delegates from Industries and from various Universities in Maharashtra like  University of Pune, Aurangabad University, MCE & RC Nashik, VIT, University of Nagpur, University of Amravati,  Akola and Kolhapur, appreciated the learning which ensured development of world class effective & productive teams, to execute and operationalize strategies. The event had representation from key Telecom players like IDEA, VODAFONE, PERSISTENT systems, VYOM Networks, TECH MAHINDRA, SIEMENS, and RELIANCE.  MITSOT being a leading Telecom institute has taken the lead to organize this event to facilitate enhanced learning not only to various members contributing in the field of telecom,  but also to the learners who are going to be the future leaders. This was justified by the presence of the Post Graduate students. The event has further encouraged and scaled up the overall involvement of these contributors in the field of telecom towards building a better ICT equipped Nation.
