“Connect 2012” the Annual Cultural Festival of MIT School of Telecom Management (MITSOT) was organized on the 19th of January 2012. The student community of MITSOT celebrating the occasion received thumping response & participation by the youth populace at MIT campus. Engaging compering, colourful attires, amazing dance performances, melodious songs, recitals, foot tapping, musical beats, hilarious one act plays and stand up comedy, bizarre act shows, poems and sher-o-shayari, glittering lightings and illuminations, captivity, fashion shows were the highlights of the grand event and the audience had a memorable gala evening, enjoying to their heart contents. On 20th January concluding programme and prize distribution ceremony of the cultural fest Connect-2012 took place in a grand event. Various prizes in the categories of cultural performances, game competitions and academics were ceremonially awarded to the winning students by esteemed dignitaries and guests. The center of attraction of the event was the presence of the Chief Guest of this festival, Dr. Amol Kolhe, an accomplished actor and star personality who played impressionable multifarious roles in various Marathi TV serials, theater plays and commercial cinema, who is the reigning youth icon and role model for millions of youngsters across the state of Maharashtra. The Guest of Honour on the occasion was Pt. Sanjay Deshpande, a leading versatile and creative sitar player. The introductory part and welcome address was given by Dr. Milind Pande, Director, MIT School Of Telecom Management. The august presence of the President and Chairman of MIT Group of Institutions, Dr. V.D. Karad, added grandeur to the events who shared his words of wisdom and blessed the audience. The festival was graced by the presence of several renowned corporates, who shared their valuable experiences with the students reliving their college days.
In the quest of widening the knowledge horizons of the students MITSOT had organized a Guest lecture by an eminent Academician from the LONDON SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS , DR. VISHAL TALWAR. Dr.Talwar has interacted with the students for almost three hours and shared his expertise in the field of International Marketing. During his interaction Dr.Talwar has contributed towards the overall personality development of the students by enhancing their knowledge about how to keep oneself updated and upgraded in this highly competitive world. Dr. Talwar has discussed explicitly on the topic “GLOBALIZATION AND IT’S IMPACT ON THE INDIAN COMPANIES.”Consecutively this is the third exposure of an expert of International stature, provided to the students of MITSOT within three months.
Dr. Vishal Talwar works within the Dept. of Management at London School of Economics (LSE). Dr. Talwar is a Ph D from Manchester Business School . Dr. Talwar has taught diverse audiences in UK, Europe and India. In India, Dr. Talwar has been involved with corporates such as Tata, Raymond and Steel Authority of India
Mr Swapnil Mali a student of batch 2011-13 has been selected to study in UK for 1 year under the MITSOT – Dundee University Dundee UK twinning program. Swapnil will study at University of Dundee, Uk for 2 semesters.

On this occasion Prof. Ganesh Tannu who himself has studied in UK and taught in UK for 4 years, shared his experience with Swapnil about Dundee University and the overall academic happenings.
