– We visited Forbes Marshall plant at Kasarwadi, Pune on Wednesday, September 10, 2014.
We were a batch of 34 students accompanied by Ms. Shobana Anand, Head, Corporate Relations & Placements, MITSOT, along with two faculty members.
– On behalf of the company, we were welcomed by Ms. Shirley Ignatius. She briefed us about the company profile and the manufacturing plant.
– Later one of the manufacturing team member introduced us to the manufacturing process of boilers at the plant. We were told and demonstrated the entire process of production from molding of the components to assembly of the deliverable product. He shared valuable information with us regarding the use and working of the CNC, BMC, HNC, Pressure powered pump package unit (PPPPU) machines and other equipments in boiler manufacturing.
– After this, a Q&A round was conducted in which the doubts and queries of students were answered by Mr. Raghu Nair(Head – Training ). He explained to us the strategies they used in management of the company. When asked about their close competitors and what factors keep them ahead of others, Mr. Nair intellectually answered that the USP of their company was “KSP” i.e. Knowledge, Service and Product. Focus on these three factors of the organization has helped them to maintain a premium position in that sector.
The visit concluded in 3 hours. In short the visit to Forbes Marshall gave an insight about working, manufacturing technology used in Forbes Marshall, knowledge of boiler (main product) and WIP (work in place).Also we got an interface with actual working of one of the reputed companies and could study their management strategies.

MIT Pune’s MIT School of Telecom Management hosted its 6thConvocation Ceremony for the Batch 2012-14 (MBA- Telecom Management), at Swami Vivekananda Hall, MIT Pune’s Kothrud Campus on 6th September 2014.
Dr. Milind Pande greeted the honourable Guests and invited attendees in his Welcome Address. While congratulating the graduating students on successfully attaining a Post Graduate Degree with ‘THE MIT Tag’, he insisted upon them to use this privilege with utmost responsibility and wisdom.
Prof. Dr. Vishwanath. D. Karad, Founder President & Director General of MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutions in his Presidential Speech blessed the graduating students with utmost pride and Congratulated them for being ready to enter the Corporate World.
The Chief Guest for the Ceremony was Mr. Rajendra Chourasia,COO, Idea Cellular Ltd. and the Guest of Honour for the evening was Mr. Kartik Nagarajan, Director, Avaya India.The dais was also shared by Corporate stalwarts Mr. Prashant Gulalkari- VP Persistent Systems, Mr. Rishi Kappal Head-Western Regions Engagement TSSC, Mr. Ranjoy Ghosh- Regional Head Samsonite and Mr. Anil Agarwal- VP HR Idea Cellular Ltd. Addressing the Graduates, the Chief Guest Mr. Chourasia gave valuable Management Mantras for surviving in the industry on long-term basis.
A total of 74 Students of MITSOT Batch 2012-14 were awarded with the Degree on this occasion along with the Subject Topper awards and Project Director’s Special awards. Following the reciprocal speech of the graduating students Dr. Jaideep Jadhav,Head Academics and Examinations proposed the Vote of Thanks to all the attendees, their parents, Industry-Academia guests, Digital & Print Media and the MITSOT Alumni.
“Blood Donation Camp” at MITSOT
on 27th August’ 2014
MIT School of Telecom, Pune in collaboration with Lata Mangeshkar Medical Foundation organized a Mega Blood Donation Camp on 27th August’ 2014. This endeavor was initiated as a CSR activity.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Milind Pande, Project Director, MIT Group of Institutions and was carried away by Vikrant Bhongle. A large number of students from B.Tech, MBA, and polytechnic even the faculty members and supporting staff turned out in big numbers to contribute to this social cause. There were doctors, Dr. Akshatha – Public Relation officer and Dr. S.V. Ketkar – BTO in charge from Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital & Research Centre’s Blood Bank who guided and advised the volunteers and the donors.
Refreshments were provided to the donors. They were also given a certificate of appreciation.
Throughout, there were smiles and laughter all around – a true embodiment of what we believe in – selfless service with a smile. The donors received certificate of recognition.
We thank MITSOT coming forward for this great cause and feel privileged and honored to make Blood Donation an annual event of celebration.
We also hope that even in the future our college continues to render its name and support to such social causes and help humanity in all the ways we can.
We, students from MITSOT Batch 2013-15 (Marketing) had been to Hindustan Coco Cola Beverages, Pirangut Plant on 26th– August-2014 with Faculty members. It was an awesome visit to Hindustan coca cola. Prior to visit we were very keen to know how actually the beverage industry functions and how coca cola manages its distribution channel. We got to know many insights not only on functions of coca cola’s production unit but also about the working of beverage industry. We also came across the way in which Hindustan coca cola maintains utmost cleanliness and maintenance of its automated machines. The hygiene inside the production plant was really appreciating. We also saw how the bottling mechanism functions. Each one of us got the samples of coca- cola Can to drink which undoubtedly everyone enjoyed .
We thank MITSOT T&P for arranging such a wonderful visit and Hindustan coca cola for allowing us to visit their plant and making our visit successful.
We also thank their technical team for sparing their precious time & look forward for some more awesome visits.
