On 18th August 2015, Finance batch – 2014-16 of MIT school of telecom management visited TATA MOTORS, which is located at Pimpri, Pune. It was a tremendous journey which was accompanied by our faculty members: Dr. Jaideep Jhadav, Ms. Shobhana Anand, and Ms.Varsha Nisal.
TATA MOTORS is India’s largest automobile company. It is the leader in commercial vehicles, and among the top three in passenger vehicles with winning products in the compact, midsize car and utility vehicle segments. The company is the world’s fourth largest truck manufacturer, and the world’s third largest bus manufacturer. The company’s manufacturing base in India is spread across Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), Pune (Maharashtra), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Pantnagar (Uttarakhand) and Dharwad (Karnataka). Tata Motors has operations in the UK, South Korea, Thailand and Spain. Among them is Jaguar Land Rover, a business comprising the two iconic British brands that was acquired in 2008. The company’s commercial and passenger vehicles are already being marketed in several countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South East Asia, South Asia and South America. It manufactures its product in 111 varients including Passenger Cars, Utility Vehicles, Trucks, Commercial Passenger Carriers, Defence Vehicles etc.
As we entered in the tata motors primises we all were welcomed by Mr.Rajesh Naik. He took all the students and the faculty members to the Canteen for the breakfast. After having the breakfast we all were taken to the class room where a Corporate Film was shown to us and a brief introduction about TATA MOTORS was given which was followed by visiting of manufacturing car plant with safety shoes, Goggles, and Helmet as safety is the first priority of Tata Group. At the manufacturing plant we have seen how much time and effort Tata Motors took to serve best Quality to the people. We were explained all the steps of manufacturing a car and in every 67 seconds one car rolled out.
When we finished with the plant session we were taken to the conference hall where question answer round was entertained. At the end the Company Guide was felicitated by our Faculty members The whole visit was so informative and we all learnt the basics of how TATA MOTORS work. Thank You MITSOT & Corporate Relations team
