MITSOT in association with MAHRATTA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE INDUSTRIES AND AGRICULTURE, Pune for the first time had organized an event in the western region. MITSOT-MCCIA Pune organized a two day work shop ie. On 20th & 21st July, 2010 on " QUALITY TOOLS TO ACHIEVE BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AND GROWTH " at MCCIA Office, Pune. BANK OF BARODA took lead in sponsoring this innovative event & also celebrated its 102 foundation day. 
The event was an endeavor of MITSOT in cognizance with Industry Academia Interface. The event was an incredible blend of knowledge and experience.
MITSOT & MCCIA had invited well known personnel from the corporate world to share their experiences to the present audience.
To survive in this competitive world Indian Micro Small Medium enterprises (MSMEs) need to use effective tools to achieve business excellence. The MSMEs must practice the tools to achieve breakthrough, control and continuous improvements in their organizations. The MSMEs should anticipate the future and search for new opportunities. The MSMEs should use Innovative ways to generate new needs, new ideas to satisfy the customers. Lean thinking to eliminate wastes in the organizations can help them to grow. Minimizing cost, resources and time should be the prime consideration for the MSMEs.
The objective of the two days Workshop was to train the engineers, managers working in MSMEs to use the various tools of TQM for achieving Business excellence and growth. To provide importance of innovations in components of industrial system & to inculcate lean thinking in MEMEs. Further not the least to provide problem solving tools.
The program commenced with introduction & history of MCCIA, MIT & Bank of Baroda by Mr. Anant Sardeshmukh, Executive Director General, MCCIA, Pune.
The keynote speakers i.e Mr. Suryakant M. Katti, TQM facilitator in India trained at AOTS Osaka, Japan, Dr. Sanjay S.Lakade, TQM facilitator in India trained at AOTS Osaka, Japan, Dr. Poornima M Charantimath, TQM facilitator in India trained at AOTS Osaka, Japan, Aditya Birla group of industries and Hindustan Latex Limited, G-5 Solutions in the area of TQM and Strategic Management, Mr. D.C. Bangale, TQM facilitator in India trained at AOTS Osaka, Japan and Mr.Yashyant Mahakal, Lead Faculty, Institute of Systems.
The program concluded with an interactive session where the keynote speakers answered all the queries with respect to the current industry scenario.
